Fallout 4 is a video game in which you play as an inhabitant of Vault 111, who must escape the post-apocalyptic Wasteland. The game was released on November 10th, 2015 after being in development for six years. Fallout 4 received universal acclaim from critics and players alike to become one of the most highly rated games ever made.
The “fallout 4 mouse smoothing” is a way to make the movement of your mouse smoother in Fallout 4. It can be done with or without any mods and is easy to set up.
Many people experienced delays in mouse movement after the initial run of Fallout 4, which was caused by vertical sync. Although there are no options for this feature, disabling it was pretty straightforward. But then there was another issue: the game’s pace is related to the speed of drawing frames, and in tiny areas where the FPS is up to 100-120 or more, the character starts to do actions and move substantially quicker. With this wonderful «feature» from the developers, picking locks has become so tough that some people are prepared to put up with the delay in order to restore v-sync.
Fortunately, we were able to solve both issues.
Instead of V-sync, use FPS Lock.
Please turn off V-sync.
- C: Documents My Games Fallout4 Username Fallout4Prefs.ini
Change the value of 1 to 0 in the line iPresentInterval = 1 in this file. Finish.
We must now install the lock. To do so, you’ll need to get ENBoost version 0.281. (How come it isn’t 0.283 or higher? We worked with 0.281 and are certain that everything will function. You may, of course, download the latest version; it will most certainly function with it as well).
Place the downloaded files in the same folder as the game, with one of them being enblocal.ini. Find the line EnableFPSLimit = false and change it to true. Done! You can enjoy the 60-frame limit without experiencing mouse latency.
Turning off the mouse’s smooth movement
Yes, you must adjust the mouse smoothing in addition to the latency caused by v-sync. In theory, the above-mentioned Configuration Tool can address this issue, thus this is the instruction for people who do not want to use it for any reason.
So, we’ll need to add the following line to three files:
bForceIgnoreSmoothness = 1 bForceIgnoreSmoothness = 1 bForceIgnore
The first document is:
- C: Documents My Games Fallout4 Username Fallout4.ini
Add a line at the bottom of section [Controls] and move it to section [Grass].
The second document is as follows:
- C: Documents My Games Fallout4 Username Fallout4Prefs.ini
It’s the same one we used before. The bottom section [Display] is required. Because there are so many lines, the simplest solution is to locate the section [Imagespace] and create a new line above it — this is the bottom part [Display].
The third document is:
- Program Files (C) (x86) common steam steamapps Fallout 4 Fallout4Prefs.ini Fallout4Prefs.ini Fallout4Prefs.ini Fallout4Prefs.
This is just for individuals who have the Steam version of the game. For everyone else, it’ll just be the folder in which the game is installed.
We proceed in the same manner as in the previous paragraph. Done!
What is the best way to solve unequal mouse sensitivity?
Our game’s scope does not shift symmetrically horizontally or vertically by default. To correct this, follow these steps:
- Find the line fMouseHeadingYScale =.021 and replace it to fMouseHeadingYScale =.03738 in the C: Users username Documents My Games Fallout4 Fallout4.ini file.
This is a solution for a 16:9 monitor. Simply multiply 0.021 by the relevant factor if you have another.
Remember that if you make a change to the launcher, all of your changes to the three files listed above will be lost.

The “fallout 4 mouse sensitivity too high” is a problem that has been present for a while. The issue is caused by the mouse movement being set to be too sensitive, which can cause problems with aiming and targeting.
