When beginning a new game, we have the option of choosing one of five races: orcs, undead, humans, dwarves, or elves. There are three character classes for our main hero within each race. The magician will enable us to cast powerful spells, the rogue will allow us to ambush our opponents more easily, and the warrior will give us with a strong defensive. We can start the journey after we’ve decided on our race and hero type.
The Grim Quest gameplay isn’t too complex, despite appearances to the contrary: towards the bottom of the screen, we’ll discover the many essential components that we’ll need to remember in order to progress. Then, by clicking on the map, we’ll be able to visit various locations where we may complete our tasks. When entering a dungeon, we shall be greeted by a board covered with black squares. To go in the dungeon, we must click on a nearby tile and confront whatever emerges. Physical opponents (rats, thieves) as well as psychological foes (doubts, guilt, anxieties, etc.) may be found. After each battle, we will be rewarded with experience and stuff to add to our inventory.
Grim Quest is a complex and passionate roguelike that conceals hours and hours of entertainment behind its simple visuals. This is a fantastic game that will definitely appeal to most roguelike enthusiasts.
